Looking beyond The Revisionism Period

The interpretation of the revisionist had drawn many criticisms from all parts. The existence of the empire of America was denied by the American academicians.

In that period the "revisionist" were challenged by "post-revisionists" as they rejected a large number of their important claims though they did accept few of the findings preached by them.

An inquiry in a totally new area emerged from the literature of   "post-revisionist" and this inquiry did not look to find out who was responsible for this conflict rather it had its interest in what was the perspective and actions of the Americans and the soviets. In view of this perspective neither side was directly responsible for the war but it was a result of known tensions that existed among the two nations due to suspicious that prevailed for almost a century. To clearly bring this idea out we can refer to the quote made by earnest may in his essay in which he briefed that:

When the World War II concluded both the soviets and the Americans were termed what was termed as antagonists. In fact it was sure that after the World War II the relation between these two nations will be nothing except for hostility giving rise to even more conflicts. It was seen that nothing could hold these two super powers to prevent them from the stimulation of antagonism as it was combined by belief system, convenience, traditions and propinquity.

In the opinion of gaddis it was Stalin and not the western powers who could have initiated a compromise keeping in mind the circumstances that prevailed at that time. The reason was that Stalin was having more power in his regime unlike Truman who did not have much power and was also a victim of his opposition in politics in his home country.
